munestar32's Journal, 05 March 2009

Ok, now I am annoyed. I am right back where I was 2 weeks ago. I know I haven't been strictly adhering to my 1400 calories, but I wouldn't think it would make me gain that much when I am exercising. Maybe I am not drinking enough water? According to journal I am still in calorie deficit so WTH! How frustrating! How annoying! Grrrr...can I throw something?

Maybe you just ate something salty. Check your diary from yesterday and see. Drink some extra water.

Yes ... you are totally permitted to throw something!! It is definitely annoying. I agree with Suzi ... check your sodium intake, drink plenty of water, breathe deeply ... in ... out ... in ... out ... and maybe consider mixing up your intake a bit ... seems to work for some. Hang in there!!!

awww, i'm sorry doll... Ive been there. It pisses me off, too. Remember that weight can fluctuate as much as ten pounds. Sodium makes you retain water, like suzi and moose mentioned. It could also be undigested food? different clothing when you weighed in? The important thing is not to give up. You can throw something though lol

Thanks guys. I did not eat anything unusually salty for me so if it is water retention, it is due to hormones I think. See, I just stopped taking the pill cause hubby and I are going to try to start a family and they said my body could get all out of whack. Sounds like a cop out to me though. As for the variables you listed girlygirl, both could be reasonable explanations....except for the fact I weigh in first thing in the morning, after I have gone to the restroom, before I eat or do anything else, butt naked. Yea, no excuses there. I did decide to try mixing up my intake though so instead of doing soup or pasta for lunch, I had a turkey burger, hold the mayo, hold the fries, on a whole wheat bun. Do you know how hard it was to say no fries? Ugh! Fries are my weak spot...and chocolate. No fries was like cutting off a few of my fingers. It felt odd, awkward, and oh so wrong. Oh well. Hopefully the extra protein will do something. Hmmm...this is kind of long, maybe I should have made it another entry. :P Ok ladies, repeat with me (cause I don't want to look like the looney talking to herself), I can do this! I can stick through this disappointment to the next stage! I will keep working on bettering myself! Random thought: maybe the fact I didn't exercise yesterday has a role in the weight I gained....

by the way you do not sound like a looney ... LOL!! But ... that could be because my own talk to myself sounds much like yours!! It could definitely be hormonal. Just DON'T GIVE UP!!!! You CAN stick through the disappointment!! You are in excellent company ... we've all been there and will most likely be there again and you'll be the one cheering us on!! Be kind to yourself!!

Heya, I've been reading up a lot about calorie cycling. It may help you out if your body has hit a calorie plateau. Might be worth looking into. Otherwise, stay strong! Things will work out if you just keep at 'em!
