jum420's Journal, 05 August 2020

I’ve been making good progress since the beginning of my diet (July 12). I’m scared I will break and go back to overeating for comfort. I allow myself 1 “cheat day” a week of up to 1400 calories, usually my diet RDI is 1150. I really need to lose this extra weight, I don’t feel like myself; the last couple years since my separation from my ex spouse and my metabolism slowing down now that I turned 30, has been trying for my confidence in general. I had an ED when I was a teen where I underate and felt nauseous when eating a regular portion of food, and being naturally skinny I became very underweight. I think I’m back in a good mindset to stick to this, but I’m worried I either won’t make it or go too far...
144.0 lb Lost so far: 6.4 lb.    Still to go: 29.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Diet Calendar Entry for 05 August 2020:
924 kcal Fat: 51.85g | Prot: 51.89g | Carb: 62.53g.   Lunch: Quiznos Honey Mustard Chicken Sub, President's Choice Salami Calabrese. Snacks/Other: Navels Oranges , No Name Old Cheddar Cheese. more...
losing 0.9 lb a week

We are in similar shoes. I am 31, starting point forever around 69 kg. But I am eating way more than you and I don't feel neither hunger nor wish to give up. I realized from my previous diets and from reading various sources that we want to quit when we don't have enough carb so now I try to eat daily 40% of carbs. I have some low carb days though and during those days only I feel that I want to give up because I am super hungry when consuming only protein and fat.

Thank you for the encouraging words razzy@77 @chandnirus I eat a lot of rice with my meals because it’s what I grew up with culturally, and my bad eating habits tend to stem from the need to distract myself from my anxiety when it gets bad (particularly at night). I’ve not been eating as many carbs since I started my diet, so I will keep your kind words in mind!
