It sounds like you're doing pretty good so far. The only thing I would add is that it is important to exercise when you lose weight because dieting without working out can decrease the amount of muscle you have, which will in turn lower your metabolism and make it harder to lose and easier to gain. You don't have to do anything too extreme, but 2-3 workouts per week can do wonders. You don't need a gym (especially when starting out) to get a great workout. You can focus on military-type exercises like push-ups, sit-ups, and body squats.
