I love that you give yourself a break every once in awhile, and then get right back on track.

I call them my reward days, larilyn. They're my favorite! I never thought I'd reach my goal weight, but I did, and I'm determined to stay here. On my reward days, I relax the diet rules. I start enforcing the rules again when the scale goes up to a certain point. It's almost like having my cake and eating it too.

You’ve definitely earned some reward days!!! Lol!!! 😃

Thanks, jnuko! I like to stay 10 pounds under my goal weight, just to be sure I'm far enough away from it that I'll never go over it again. I call it my buffer. When I start chipping away at my buffer, I jump back on track.

you will be right back at it! I like the idea of 10 pounds under goal, the buffer....! happy you enjoyed yourself!

Thanks, Todd! I really look forward to them, and think ahead of time about what I want for my next reward day.

Thanks, Marie! I really did enjoy it, and I've been able to get back on track. I've been thinking about my next reward day though. 🙂

I started maintenance June 1st of this year, jnuko, and have been using the buffer rule since then. So far it's worked really well for me.

Thanks for your encouragement, mountainman. I wouldn't say it's easy for me though. Dieting has honestly been the hardest thing I've ever done. Quitting smoking was easier than dieting. I think I finally have a grasp on it though, and I'm determined not to fail again. Your encouragement definitely helps me stay in check, so thanks again. 🙂

Think about it this way you have defeated a battle on two fronts you quit smoking and lost weight. both are the best things you could have done for yourself.A lot of leople give up and give in to things like that. it takes a lot and i think people don't give themselves enough credit where credit is due

Thank you, mountainman. I like that! I'm a warrior when you put it that way! 🙂
