How is it that I did better sticking to the more restricted phase 1 than I am doing now! Ugh, I feel like everytime I eat a carb I get bloated, and yet now I can't resist them. I am trying to add carbs to only 1 meal a day, but it is hard. I would have ww toast with my breakfast, or a low carb wrap for lunch, and yet I am not budging.
180.0 lb Lost so far: 10.0 lb.    Still to go: 40.0 lb.    Diet followed poorly.

oh i know how you feel! I don't know what to do either, every time I have a glass of milk (my staple food @ one point) I get terrible gas pains and just want more! If you figure it out, let me know!

I have trouble adding carbs back into my diet after following phase 1 also..bloating and an over-all feeling of lethargy. Maybe time will help..I usually stop eating them when I start feeling bad, so I guess I'm not giving phase 2 a real good try. Maybe a week or so On phase 2 will help. Not sure:)

Try to add the carbs in at night. You have less time to crave them b/c it's sleep time. By the time you wake up the craving will be gone.

i know exactly what you mean...i have south beached several times in the past and whenever i hit the second phase i have the same issues. which is why i would typically only use this diet if i need to lose 5 pounds or so before an event. I am south beaching right now too and about to enter the second phase but i have a better game plan. I'm gonna bring fruits back in, but still limit my carbs a lot like in phase one. I am mostly going to start calorie counting now. find out how many calories a day you eat to maintain the weight you are at, and then knock 500 off and keep track of what you eat. it might sound like more work, but i think its gonna be effective for keeping the weight off and to still keep losing.

Thanks for the feedback. I don't even know how many calories a day I should be eating. I think I will try your suggestion of adding fruits and cut back on the breads/wraps. I am restarting Phase I tomorrow, as I have a big event in a couple of weeks. I would love to drop another 5 pounds or so by the end of Phase I, then try the Phase 2 again, I know I can live on this plan so I am really going to stick to it. On the plus side, a pair of jeans I haven't worn in 2 years fit me again, so maybe it is more about inches than pounds, right? Continued success to all of you!
