Gained 1.5 whilst trying twice as hard to lose 😩🥴🥺🙄😵🥱
Now inREALLy and truely don’t know which way to jump. The advice was eat more than 1000 calories as my body was starving itself. Ok.
Up it to 1200 of my 1300 allowance
This was result
No blame on advice But if I stay on that I will end up ba k where I started

So will go back to 1000

At least then I stayed same old same old
Any more than that and I gain
Maybe need to eat 800 ???

You need to eat alot more. you're body is storing what you are eating as it thinks it's starving.

I agree. 1000cals is maybe not even enough to give the basic nutrients u need. This happens to me and I have to up my calories for awhile (by a few hundred calories) and then drop back to no less than 1300, and Ill move passed the plateau. Yes u will gain initially but then when u drop it again u will see results.

It could be a few weeks process not an overnight fix

I gained as well (1.5kg) after consistently dropping! I did do a Health Study check in March - I had lost weight but also I had converted 3kg into muscle (have been exercising three times a week for 7 months) so I wonder if the loss/gain is a reflection of building muscle?

Are you working out everyday? I eat about 1000cal at the moment to lose weight fast but if I work out (lightly) then I’ll eat 1200/300 cal. Dw. Everyone is different. Peoples weight fluctuates. Keep it up 👍

i totally hear you. I'm a fitness coach and I hear this everyday. weight loss isn't just about counting calories and exercising. how boring and unsustainable is that? the problem with the app is it doesn't take into consideration each individual's metabolism, dietary preferences and ethnicity. eating 800kcal tells your body it is 'starving' so it believes it is experiencing a shortage of food in the ecosystem. therefore the body will try to retain more weight than lose it. also weight loss isn't just about eating less, it's also about what you're eating, when you're eating and other eating habits. I'm not here to sell my program but I have helped hundreds of men and women lose weight. they all start with my free 7 day nutrition habit challenge. try it out. don't book in a call if you don't want the paid program. good luck and here's the link: www.bit.ly/wfcmembers3 and here's another if you want to join the free group challenge: www.wfitsclub.com/smfp7-welcome

Thanks everyone. As I said before so much conflicting advice. Eat more than 1000. Eat 600......... Do keto. Don’t do keto. Fast. Don’t fast. I do intermittent fasting 16:8 I do keto (so min carbs medium protein and high good fats ) I drink a heap of water 2 litres a day I walk a fast pace 10 km a day And I only eat when I am hungry in my 8 hour window. I am of the opinion of if your not hungry then u obviously don’t need the food If I am hungry I eat By doing all of this I rarely make it to the 1000 calories and dont like to stuff food in just to get the numbers up. Doesn’t make sense to me Lost 7kg. But now nothing. For weeks. Then gained. All doing the same thing 🥴😩🤔

Eat whole real foods - no processed crap, monitor how they make you feel - energy etc. don't count calories (all calories are not created equal) eg. (calories from avocado are different from calories from cake). Throw out your scales and measure progress by how you feel, your energy levels and how your clothes fit. Enjoy life. your self-worth is not tied to a number on a scale. I only use this app because I'm interested in the nutrients in my food. I ignore the calories completely. Good luck. I hope you feel energetic and well soon. Kylie

chances are your gaining and losing water weight not fat. are you tracking your macros. are you weighing yourself every week on the same day at same time of day ( eg I weigh in every sat first thing before breakfast). don't bother weighing in daily. my tips from someone who's last 15+ kg. 1) do low carb , throw keto out... it's very difficult and you need to be well read 2) track all your macros and learn how to eat low carb. 3) 1000 calories? this seems wierd. you should aim generally for no more than a 30% deficit on your daily caloric requirements. there are lots of calculatiors to work this out online and on fatsecret 4) eat sufficient salt and drink sufficient water on low carb diets. as you will loose water weight and with the water sodium. 5) as others said eat whole non processes foods. avoid all carby foods. if you do this properly you will lose weight. bare in kind your body is made up of mostly water... low carb causes you to lose water weight first... this is not real weight loss the idea is to get your body used to using fat as an energy source instead of carbs/sugar... give it a week or two then you will see real results. at the start I weighed in every few days now I weigh in once a week n don't think too kcih on it. hope this helps. :) (also some good points about good n bad calories etc, however if you stick to above eating whole foods (I do meat n non starchy veg n berries n small amounts of select fruits), then you should be fine :)

another thing... from my understanding it's actually better for weight loss to eat regular smaller meals to increase metabolism as this increases resting weight loss rate, the cardio won't help you lose tonnes of weight infact, from recent studies I've read it's becoming largely accepted that intense exercise has shown to actually do the oppositw and slow down weight loss ... don't skip meals or just eat when your hungry, thus is a trap and will put your body into starvation mode=bad... get into a routine and eat regularly

also... if you slip up on low carb be prepared to put on some serious water weight... don't stress you can lose it again your not stacking on fat... just go back to low carb and the water weight will again fall off and you van continue tracking progress to your desired weight. remember make lifelong commitments to changing habits for healthy living :)

Starvation mode is a myth. Eating smaller more frequent meals to increase metabolism is a myth. Track everything that goes in your mouth, by weight, in grams, determined by a scale. Calculate your personal macros correctly. I would suggest the ketogains(dot)com calculator Keto is an amazing tool. Keto does not need to be high fat, just very low carb. If you have body fat to lose then you don't want high dietary fat. Definitely mind your electrolytes, particularly sodium. Do NOT drink extra water unless you are thirsty just because you think you should. It actually flushes your kidneys more, which depletes your electrolytes more. Protein is your main focus. Whole, real food. Not processed "ketofied" junk. I have lost 90kg this way and reversed many serious health problems. Go get it 👊

Thank u Gianna. Yes I’ve never gotten that whole starvation mode idea. Otherwise people in concentration camps. Anorexics etc would not look like they do. The body would hang onto every ounce. Obviously in their case it doesn’t. If that makes sense. I have relaxed the whole keto thing and just being mindful of only eating when hungry. I never overeat anyway as far as portions go. When I am full I am full Your loss is impressive. Have sent u a request to follow if that’s ok 👍

Sorry i should have been more specific. Gianna is on point, Starvation mode is a myth in that its less about a percevted mode of the body, and more factually about not gorging on food, and same goes for more regular meals. A lot of people on low carb find they are incredibly hungry all the time, spanning you meals out (or having smaller meals over the course of the day) can help with making you less likely to gorge on food and overeat while suffering from this. I am myself very very prone to this, so i try and ensure i can snack my foods consistently as required thoughout the day. for example, most often my breakfast is a low carb smoothie using whole foods, i drink this over the course of a few hours usuallywhich helps mein the morning where i find im usually worse. Sounds liek this may be less of an issue for you tho parksy. @GiannaB thanks for your great inputs, your specific comments on dietary fat intake were particularly beneficial as they lead me to read some great further medical health inforamtion :) Thanks for that
