Toni Bourlon's Journal, 24 February 2020

Up another lb, this makes me sad. And I didn't make it to the Gym this weekend like I said I would. Friday I was watching a movie & Sunday it was just cold & rainy & I had other things to do around the house. Lousy excuse, I know. At least Friday night I did some body weight exercises & ab work, and I ran 2.5 miles Saturday. I wanted to run 3, but my stomach started hurting after the 2.5 mark - darnit, shouldn't drink a Coke right before running! But yesterday I didn't do anything, I let my feelings get hurt over something my daughter said (not important what, I'm probably overreacting) so I just watched another movie. I should at least make it to the tread climber tonight, plus abs. And today I'm tracking again - something I really should do on the weekend, no excuses!

I had a fitness coach for a while and one thing she said reminds me of your situation: you can’t lose weight when your body doesn’t feel safe. If your body feels unsafe, it will hold on to pounds as if there is a disaster coming. Don’t be angry or beat up on yourself. Yesterday stunk. But today will be good. This is a lifestyle change, not a get-fit-quick scheme. You can do it. Not every day will be good, but it’s getting better.
