Tuckashea's Journal, 03 April 2013

Wow! Ok, so I've been here before, starting again. Only this time, it's crucial I stick to the plan, I have been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, I can't mess around with this anymore, aside from being tired of being overweight, my life seriously depends on me getting healthy. I have already lost 6 pounds since my diagnosis in at the end of Feb 2013, so I am on the right track, I think. I have started eating lots of veggies, cut out white carbs and refined sugar, and incorporated more good carbs and lean proteins into my days. Exercise hasn't come that easily though, I have a lot of trouble getting off my lazy big keester! I have been reading books on diabetes and am going to be starting a new eating plan for diabetics so hopefully it will help me lose some weight a little quicker and have more energy.
260.1 lb Lost so far: 5.9 lb.    Still to go: 5.1 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Thank you Alnona, that means a lot to me. Since I was diagnosed I have felt very much alone at times. My husband tries to be supportive but I believe he either forgets or hasn't come to terms with it. Both my father and his mother had diabetes and both died due to complications from it, so I'm sure that weighs heavy on his mind if he lets himself think about it. I haven't told anyone in my family yet because, 1. I do not want them to worry about me, 2. I don't want the pity (for lack of a better word), and 3. I don't want the lectures or questioning of everything I eat because they don't truly understand diabetes. I am doing a lot of research about and am trying to learn as much as I can. Thank you for the support.
