They are saying there could be aftershocks for weeks if not months! Expecting a 6+ magnitude aftershock within a day. Gale force winds and heavy rain expected this afternoon, aftershocks still frequent and not small. All family is okay. Slept for 3 hours finally and just risked having a shower - hence the weigh in LOL

It sounds like you are in for stormy weather (!) for a while yet. Wish I had something smart to say - but I am here and other of your friends are on line off an on through the days and we are all praying for you. I hope that it helps to know we are thinking about you and sending out positive vibes and prayers. The internet has made the world a small place, hasn't it>

Hey, on a good note, you are very close to "underland" - something to maybe get your mind off your situation - hope it makes you smile. At least you have hubby with you too and your parents.

I was visiting CA for the first time back int he 90's when one of their larger ones hit. Funny thing, we had just gone on a city tour the day before and our guide was telling us about what to do if one should hit while we were in town - how did she know??? Anyhoo, that morning it hit. After scaring the cr*p out of us, we waited thru aftershock after aftershock and finally took the fastest showers we've ever taken. We packed our bags and found our way on the first flight back home. Even when we landed in Vegas en route, we could still feel the aftershocks. You are very lucky to be with your parents and family! When I tried to call home from Los Angeles after the quake hit, the phone lines were jammed, so it took a couple hours before my parents knew we were OK. My thoughts and prayers go out to you to stay safe and to have the Earth stop shaking!

Best wishes from a Californian who knows first hand how scary it can be! I visited Hawks Bsy when in NV a few years ago and went to the museum about the parallels between earthquakes there and in CA. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
