Back in August while I was home on summer holidays I refound my love of swimming. So I joined my local life centre and am now swimming 3 times a week. I haven't swum for years, but loving it!

So for motivation, I've decided to swim for charity and raise money for spinal injuries. I'm only swimming breaststroke at the moment... hopefully one day I can build up the stamina to be able to swim front-crawl for any length of time. This week I have swum a total of 5.4km (3.35 miles) and 1.8lbs down... so happy, happy! 🙂🏊

I am a swimmer and can confirm how great it is! I do 1500 metres a session, mixture of strokes. 3.35 miles a week is excellent. Throw in a length of frontcrawl every 8 lengths and you can build from there.

I can't swim but whilst I visit family in Spain I use a noodle so I sort of swim I love it 🏊‍♂️

I am doing the aspire channel swim aswell. keep going. Like Dory says "just keep swimming, just keep swimming "

Thank you for your support everyone, it means a lot. Bunty145, hopefully I can do a mixture of strokes again eventually... it certainly keeps it more interesting to be able to change around a bit. But that's a great idea of trying a length of front crawl every now and then. I will do that, as I'm sure that will be really helpful in building my stamina up again. That's fantastic to hear that you're doing the Aspire Channel swim too Blackfaery... it's hard work, but I'm finding it a great incentive to go to the pool. Good luck with your swimming too. Lol and in the pool the other day I was indeed going... "just keep swimming". 🏊🤣
