Sweet mercies..

First off, thank you everyone for the motivating pep-talks and for the great ideas. I'm slowly starting to come around to my old pre-vacation self...Still haven't gone to to gym yet (it's been 2 weeks now more or less!!). But surpisingly, despite my lack of efforts, I have lost two pounds as of yesterday. I imagine it's the water weight, the salt, and the carbs that are coming off.

So, now I have a net gain of 2 pounds that I first need to lose, and then I'll be back to the regular process, and start losing the remaining 20 pounds, hopefully at an average of 2 pounds per week. So, at this point, the previously-hoped for 135 pound (normal BMI) by my birthday on Sept 7th is not going to happen any more :( Nevertheless, I can't use that as an excuse to not continue. Any loss, however big or small, from this point on, will be GREAT, so I'll be thankful and happy to be any amount of lighter-than-present by September. The important thing is, I want to clearly establish the healthy and fit lifestyle/habits before the school year starts; thus be able to keep up that lifestyle despite the stress and turmoil of the regular academic year.

So, on the nutrition front, yesterday, I started by eating two small slices of the leftover pizza, then later on made a non-beef soy stir fry (350 mg sodium, but 20 g of proteins!!), later on made a beet/ricotta/honey/almonds dish, but didn't turn out as well as the one in a restuarant that I'd tried...my water intake was getting better (about 2 liters or so, still less than before, but getting better).

So, today, I'll try and do carbs as minimally as possible; have more veggies and fruits and drink more water. I do plan to go workout at 4 pm or so, and then later in the evening plan to meet a friend for happy hour (I'll get a coffee or a soda then).

I now have a new goal: In exactly two weeks, I want to lose 5-6 pounds, workout DAILY, and eat carbs minimally, and don't drink any alcohol. It's only two weeks--I can do this!!! I have a high-stress event coming up after two weeks where everyone's going to look gorgeous--and super skinny--and while I won't look skinny, I want to try and not look fat either! Even if I don't lose much weight, the daily working out will help me look more toned and fit--thus better in my clothes then. So, help me God and FS, I need to stay focused and do this!!!
158.6 lb Lost so far: 19.4 lb.    Still to go: 28.6 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

You CAN do this! Do as much as you can and then enjoy that event.
