For almost a month I was sick with first a bad cough then a heavy cold. During this time I lost my appetite and tolerance for fresh fruits and veggies. A plate of fresh salad with low low call balsamic made me miserable all night. Even a fresh apple hurt my stomach and caused bloating. Could t his be an effect of the ravages of cold virus and/or aging?? Citrus seems more tolerable. Many people find them too ascidic so maybe it 's just certain foods. Iceburg lettuce (rather than romaine) tends to be gassy and apples have that effect, too. Each has something not quite digestible about them.

Getting back on course again. Planning meals and sticking to the plan works. Reporting what I eat works. I am a lifelong dieter. I do know how to lose weight. Just sticking to it and not being self-indulgent in a lazy way is the key. there is nothing I cannot eat occasionally (though with with rational rarity)--cheese cake, fudge, whipped cream etc. -- but keeping track of it and being responsible really does work. When you are dieting conscientiously you pick out the very best of the best and have a quarter serving. It all tastes the same but the difference is what's sticking to our hips.
This morning I ate half muffin, 1/4 cup salted cashews, and a miniature finger-sized cream puff--not good choices, but I thought my stomach was still going to be sore if I ate high protein. However, I had a small serving of Fage, and a huge cup of rich french press coffee (put through a filter to get out the debris) and I feel fine. Little or no stomach discomfort.
Back to yoghurt, interesting veggies, low cal high protein meats, and an occasional piece of fresh fruit. Blood sugar only 95 this morning, thanks to glypazide plus metformin. It will be nice when I get enough fat off that I might need less medication. I need to start checking blood pressure again. Gorgeous and delicious cups of strong coffee might be jumping those numbers up if I don't watch it. Walk more.
176.0 lb Lost so far: 22.0 lb.    Still to go: 34.0 lb.    Diet followed poorly.
