Stuck to my two drink max last night at my sis-in-law's get together. This is the first time I've encountered backlash for not drinking enough or eating. I ate a homemade dinner with my family earlier in the evening around 7, so I was already approaching my RDI with room left for a couple of drinks. So when they decided to order Chinese food at 11PM, I declined. Not only because of how late it was, but because I just wasn't hungry. They almost seemed upset. They were like, since you ate dinner a few hours ago, you can eat again. I explained my RDI and how I was already at my maximum for the day. Now one thing I realize that I DON'T like explaining is my RDI and counting calories. I feel like people are laughing at me. But I'm going to keep on doing what I'm doing and soon I'll be the one laughing...in celebration of my weight loss!
180.4 lb Lost so far: 22.6 lb.    Still to go: 10.4 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

That is so right! People that are in denial about their health are on a one way path. You are aware of your body and health, which is something they should be celebrating with you. Whether it's family or friends, they should be supporting you rather than trying to bring you down. So shame on them. But prop's to you for holding your ground. Next time, just say you're not hungry, b/c sometimes it just takes too much energy to try to explain!

You're right Tammy. I think I will just say I'm not hungry from now on...way too much energy to explain! I refuse to let ppl make me feel bad for trying to make better choices. You guys really keep me motivated and I'm glad I have this support system because everyone on here understands and identifies with my goals for a healthier lifestyle. Before, I would have had no problem with eating chinese food, IHOP, Waffle House, etc. late at night, but now that I pay much more attention to restaurant nutritional information, I can't even do that to myself.
