JockoT's Journal, 30 November 2018

I am losing weight but I am not really happy with how quickly it is dropping off. I am having problems in that as soon as I start eating I begin to feel full. Yesterday, for instance, I had a half tub of soup with a single slice of bread with cold ham on it. I ate it but couldn't have managed any more. That, and a banana, was all I managed all day.
Years ago I was diagnosed with a Hiatus Hernia, so that could be the problem, but I am aware it could be a lot worse. I see my GP today.

Doctor took a blood sample. After he gets the results they may arrange an Endoscope examination. He has not ruled out Stomach Cancer but says that the fact I have a good appetite, even though I cannot eat much is a good sign.

Fingers crossed for you. I have noticed that my stomach has shrunk since dieting as I’m eating smaller portions. 😘

I have the Hiatus Hernia and my stomach has worked its way up into my esophagus. It turned too ... so I will always have a big stomach .. due to it's repositioning. If you begin to eat smaller portions you will only want smaller portions. I hope your endoscopy procedure comes out okay. I haven't taken heartburn pills for some time due to eating low carb. It really helps. Also, I have read that cancer thrives on sugar, so low carb is low sugar ... and that is another great reason to eat low carb. Just throwing some ideas out to you.

I hope the blood work turns up what is wrong. Starch and sugar free is the way to go. Like Sandy said, Cancer feeds on sugars and starch is sugar in disguise. Good luck Jocko and keep us updated.

why is everyone mentioning cancer he hasn't been diagnosed, I'm amazed, hope all goes well

Probably because I said it was uppermost in my mind and the doctor had said it was a possibility and hadn't ruled it out..

Hope all is well, and that it was just your body saying it doesn't need more. I know I have days when I just don't feel hungry, and others when I'm ravenous. I think our needs very from day to day.

Saying a prayer that it is nothing serious and things will be okay.

Thanks. Been called in for a Fasting Glucose check. I have to see nurse at 9:40 tomorrow morning, after fasting from this evening. And they have increased my Thyroxine.

Nurse said the non fasting check they did last Friday was normal, but I'll have to wait until I see doctor again on Monday for today's results.
