One word. Plateau. Kind of frustrating. I need to do something to kick start the loss again. No more sweets.

Update 1: SO, in looking at my weight chart, I hit the wall around the time that I came back from London. While in London I just worked and tried to be good. I came back and it was all about reconnecting and celebrating. I see that my caloric intake, on average was well over 1200 and that I started to take in some sweets. I have decided to modify this new behavior because I need to start making headway to 220. So what does that mean...no more sweets. No dinner or food after 7pm. No more breads/sandwiches (I have had some like the McChicken). When I was strict it was working...now I am seeing that my weight loss has slowed substantially.

Additionally, a fellow FS'er and I are committed to doing 60 mins of PLANKing by October 1. I think this will help build my core muscles and hopefully burn fat around the midsection of my body. I don't have a belly per se but I do have the love handles that I want to get rid of. Additionally, I think I am also going to implement the crunches workout that i did two years ago. The crunches work out shrank my waist from 38 to 36. I remember the feeling when I went into Banana Republic and I purchased these size 36 Jeans....it was such a great feeling to wear those. I still have those jeans and I WILL wear them again without cinching.

On the positive side, another goal was reached. I am now an official size 38 pant. :)

Updates to follow.

It's a good idea when you are on a plateau to take a good hard look at what you are eating, and see if it is really a plateau or do you need to get back to the basics that were were working for you. I think you have done that. I did it, and now I'm dropping again. I don't think I'll ever be back in the 200s again. Keep visualizing and remembering that thin feeling! Gotta go plank now...

Great work reviewing your food plan and then your new goals. This is why I like logging so much - we can look back and see exactly what best worked when things were going better. I hope you are planking a TOTAL of 60 minutes in the next month!!! Wow - I would have to plank 3 - 4 minutes oer day which would mean about tryig 15 times a day since I can barely do 15 seconds at a shot! LOL

I was on a plateau for 2 months. I realized it was vitamins I was taking. I agree you should change your diet around. I learned if I ate the same things all the time... I didn't lose as much weight. You have to shake things up.

Oh and about planking. I did it for 45 seconds around a week ago? My back still hurts. Apparently I wasn't ready for 45 seconds yet :) Lesson learned.

WOW, a lot of responses. Ok, about the planking...my fellow FS'er, who I now consider a great friend, was the one who suggested this to me over our skype call. She said that it could be fun. and yes..its 60 Minutes a month of PLANK. I just needed to reassess these past 15 days and see what I can do to change it up so I can get back to trending significantly downward as opposed to slightly downward. For the workout, I think If I strengthen my core then the mid section weight will drop and I will lose as much of the love handles as possible. Also, it helps create a greater caloric deficiency leading to further weight loss.

Planking will shape the muscles while your good eating and cardio with do away with the fat. I wish that something as easy as planking was the solution to my middle, but you have to come at it from different directions.
