So, I was ready to give up. I have had 4 medical appointments this week alone. I'm sick of doctors, I'm sick of meds, I'm sick of being in pain all the time.

Then I saw my cardiologist for a regular visit. He's really the one person allowed to complain about my weight. He didn't. He talked to me and then he went to his office and called my primary, waited for him to come to the phone and they discussed what we were going to do. They have agreed that I should stick with 1600 calories a day, keep my carbs below 20% for now and reevaluate when i see them in the spring.

I was ready to just give up but he reminded me that I do have a great medical team, that even though my weight isn't where it needs to be, my heart looks great, my blood work looks great, my psoriasis is clearer than it has been in years and since my knee replacement last spring I've completely stopped taking prescription painkillers.
There IS progress and every inch of progress I have fought hard for. So, for today, I'm gonna keep fighting and see how far I can get before a new year arrives. New goal, I was 243# in March at my presurgical visit, I want to be there on New Years day.
271.6 lb Lost so far: 3.4 lb.    Still to go: 71.6 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
gaining 4.6 lb a week

Thanks nikeit....I forgot to throw quit smoking in there too. I just got focused on what I didn't accomplish and forgot how much I really had.
