I have not counted calories, my magic for losing wt, for several days and lack of weight loss is a clear result. Still staying off Flour and wheat, no carbs but fruits and veggies, but probably too much fruit, and sometimes meats that are too fatty and nuts. My goal is out there and attainable, and at my age, 70, a very good state to maintain maximum health from here on out. I just have to go after that weight goal, then learn to maintain it.
178.0 lb Lost so far: 20.0 lb.    Still to go: 36.0 lb.    Diet followed poorly.
