Yesterday evening was just ugly. Its a miracle I didn't gain this morning. I actually lost 0.6 lbs, but that doesn't excuse caving. An impromptu family barbecue tested and defeated my willpower. I ate an apple to try to preempt the usual pre-meal grazing. But if food is a drug, then salty corn chips are my gateway drug. All it took was the lure of a new Tostito's flavor and I was done. I had picked up some turkey breast to grill with the skin-on chicken everyone else was having. I had the best of intentions; however, the turkey was sampled by a couple of us a the grill and turned out amazing. At the table it disappeared quickly, so I ate two wings without skin instead (and mashed potatoes and salad with lite ranch).

I'm trying to ignore the self-loathing that comes from cheating, and focus on being grateful I didn't gain and figuring out how to keep this from happening again. I know I'm never going to get healthy support from the people around me. Half think dieting is stupid, the other half takes dieting to an unhealthy place.


208.8 lb Lost so far: 5.2 lb.    Still to go: 63.8 lb.    Diet followed poorly.
