Farm Gal 50's Journal, 04 June 2018

Ah, a few days of up and down of the scale and then this. I am ever so happy for a pound down after a weekend. We ate out on Saturday. I ordered the grilled halibut and it came with four lovely braised asparagus spears, and a baked potato. I keep the carb-count very low but I allow myself the occasional indulgence. The baked potato was lavished in real butter and sour cream--I ate about 1/2 at the most and saved the rest for Miss Zula Blue (our nursing Weimaraner Mama. She was ever so thankful to me. The meal included their fabulous fresh green salad. Most diners get croutons and the fresh-baked bread--we pass on both. The smell is delightful though. Also, there are two halibut filets--I brought one home. I ate it for dinner last night.

I have Keto-friendly bread I keep in the freezer. If I eat it, I know it slows the weight loss. I never gain but I typically don't lose either. Nonetheless, the carb-count is very low along with the calories and sometimes it is just what I need. The ups and downs (on the scale) could also reflect water-weight fluctuations. The heat is on and I am working in the garden. The Lymphedema is a thing and even more so since they took out the lymph nodes on my left side. Nevertheless, I can record another pound off--one less fluffy fat clump is gone from the body. Hurrah! Have a beautiful day. Eat healthy, and smile a lot!
