Started two weeks ago and I gained instead of lost been following the diet and exercising walking 2 miles and doing weights. I just don't want to go on the scale it's making me so upset.
279.0 lb Lost so far: 0 lb.    Still to go: 146.0 lb.    Diet followed N/A.

Don't give up and make absolutely sure you're counting carbs correctly. I just started again about 10 days ago, but I did Atkins about 10 years ago successfully. This time for my first 8 days, NOTHING. Then yesterday, I had lost almost seven pounds! I also bought Atkins newest book, I use their website and their FACEBOOK page for information and encouragement. I hope this helps!

Tracy, I am not sure what is going on, but in todays menu, you have Atkins bar for breakfast, and a lot of people cannot eat them frequently and still lose weight. I also see that you already have 20 grams of carbs and that is jsut for breakfast. While I understand that isn't net carbs, I can't eat over 20 grams of TOTAL carbs a day and lose. Perhaps that is the problem. Have you been keeping track of your foods before joining FS? IF so, you might want to enter your food lists in the food diary and then check what your totals are. After sing the site for a few days, you may find that you are consuming more carbs than you should, and/or not getting enough calories. You need to get about 1500-1700 calories a day, or your body goes into starvation mode and you won't lose. If you need anything, please don't hesitate to ask, as the folks on FS are awesome.

Hi yes I have and after I plugged in that atkins bar a light came on in my head like maybe that is the problem. A few months ago I did aktins and lost 20lbs in a month and then fell off the wagon this time I do not want to make the same mistake and I did eat those bars between breakfast and lunch. I get up at 5am eat egg's at 5:45 then at break about 3 hours later at work I have the atkins bar. Maybe I should skip that bar this time around see what happens. Thank you so much xoxo

If you just started a new exercise plan (especially with weights), your muscles retain water (temporarily) and it can show on the scale as a gain. Take your measurements or become aware of how your clothes are fitting. You can actually see a gain on the scale but do down in sizes because of fat loss. Drink some extra water.

Thank you!! someone else had told me that as well a friend and I thought she was just being sweet..lol.. I am not going to weight in til FS tell's me to and just keep working hard and also try to get this induction phase right on Atkins. I can't seem to eat the right thing's I mean not enough too little too much. The water I drink all day and pee all day and night the kind of pee where you need a toliet now or I might have an accident. But yeah I just started this is my 2nd week with weights and I just bought the bender ball started that this week for abs and go to the track and walk 2 miles. I am going to attempt the JOG but I dont want to over do it to fast.. I do however feel a change in myself even if I don't see it on the scale so I am not gonna let that scale get me down..

Tracy, you might need to slow down just a little on your excercising. Let your body adjust to this new routine. You and I are close to the same weight and height and I tried jogging for a few days and gaiined like 6 pounds right away! It was because my muscles were retaining water (I lost it pretty soon but was discouraging). I know you want to loose this weight but don't try to work it off all at once. Have you taken your measurements? If i'm not happy with my scale, then I measure myself and chances are I have lost an inch somewhere---or maybe just a half an inch, but it's something. I measure around my chest where my bra goes around (not my breasts-I figure god gave me those, and i can't really change it), around my waist (natural waist) and the widest part of my hips. Write it down and keep because your inches will decrease even if you don't loose on the scale.

I can agree I am pushing myself way to hard I don't think I am ready to run or jog yet I did attempt it cause my husband looked like it was so easy and my skinny sister but in good time I will be spanking the both of them on the track =o) I think from this site I have learned so much today I feel so grateful I came across this site and joined. Thank you for feedback I really appreciate it. xx
