Erica5's Journal, 14 July 2012

Well, I've been coming here a little less - I think it's mostly because this has been a great tool - along with reading Mark's Daily Apple - for figuring out which foods work the best for me.
Not having to worry about it is nice; I can't remember the last time I felt like I needed to deny myself something I REALLLLLLY wanted. If you are perfectly capable of making your own whole organic chocolate, ice cream, cake, and cookies, what's the need to crave processed sweet crap? I have been telling those close to me that if foods aren't prepared by someone who loves you... don't eat them.
That's how I roll. That must mean I love me now :)
I guess that once you can look at a plate and automatically think, "50% meat, 50% veggies, 100% organic and pastured" life gets a lot easier; not that I'm eating mindlessly or anything of the sort (NO one could eat bacon like I do and eat mindlessly - you have to savor that stuff!!)hah
I've never enjoyed cooking so much in my life! I've got fresh veggies in the dehydrator so that I can rehydrate and use them even in the dead of winter. I've got a venison roast in the crock pot for dinner tonight and I'm off work today, so I'll be heading to the farm to pick up more clean meats and veggies then making my dog his little food packets that I'll freeze and use for his meals for the rest of the week.
So I guess although I've not been tracking things a ton here, it's no big deal; fat secret and primal/paleo research has made me more dependent on ME and I like that :)
Now all I need is for potential new employers to love me as much as I love me and contact me regarding my resumes! :)
Off to the farm!

That is so awesome that Primal has done so much for you! I am about 90-95% Primal, working on getting to 100% everyday. I've already reaped tons of benefits so far, can't wait to have as much success with it as you! So, I must once again thank you for sharing this lifestyle!!!

Way to go, Rudawg! It's great to hear that you are benefitting from this stuff, too! Sometimes, when I begin to read others' posts here, I wonder why more people aren't Primal since there seem to be SO many success stories like ours! It's so intuitive and, as Mark Sisson has pointed out in the past, really effortless once you get going, right?

Thanks! I do the same thing, people tell me all the time about certain health issues and all, and I tell them about Primal. Some are receptive, some are not!! Most don't wanna give up the grains. I don't miss any of the off-limits foods at all. It is super easy to follow. The hardest part for me is shopping for quality foods (not many choices in my area, but enough to make it work), and having to prepare/cook ALL the time... can't just whip a sandwich together or have a bowl of cereal anymore! Don't miss the foods, just the convenience.
