Update 3-6-2012: I'm so close to my first goal, but I am not focused too much on the scale. I took up snowboarding in early January, so I've been building lots of muscle and therefore not loosing weight. What is happening is that my clothes continue to loosen and I keep feeling better! If this keeps up, that's all I care about!!

My name is Dave, 36 year old single dad of two teenaged girls who live with me.
About 7 years ago, I was in the best shape of my life. I got into a semi-long term relationship about 4 years ago (which ended about two months ago), and got too comfortable, and slowly gained lots of weight. I peaked out at 225lbs, and I'm 5'7".
I've been doing my own diet, which is just low carbs (<35g per day) and counting calories. I cheat the diet once a week, sometimes twice, to keep my sanity!
I found FatSecret looking for a calorie counter on my blackberry, and it has been wonderful in keeping me on track! Counting everything keeps me motivated, and seeing what others are doing is a great help.
I've been trying to do as much cardio as I can, I have a BowFlex Treadclimber at home. I recently started lifting weights again, had to wait to heal a shoulder injury.
I want to get the body back I had in my mid to late 20s!

Does Fasting Work???
Short term fasting is very beneficial. Mark's Daily Apple has some good articles on fasting.

Cell Phone App..
Ok it should work just like the others said it works on Android. You have to enter your FS user name & password in the "sync" option of the app.

Ticker not showing weight lost since joining...HELP
I don't think there is a way to change that. Your ticker resets when you change your diet. You total history does show up under your "weight history" part of your profile though...
