Eringiffin's Journal, 29 June 2012

I didn't see a change on the scale today but my clothes are super loose again so I think somewhere in there, progress is being made. I haven't been tracking sodium but I think the last 2 days I have been eating a lot of salty food. Even though I have been drinking a gallon of water a day, the sodium might be part of the problem.

Back to the gallon of water a day... I almost peed myself in the bank yesterday waiting for the customer service rep to finalize all the details of the account I was opening. Apparently it's a security risk for them to have a public bathroom or something. I was soooo glad when I got out of there without incident. I am going to have to plan all my outings to take 1 hour or less or start wearing Depends, lol.

The carb cravings are on the rise and it's just about that time of the month again. I am going to pick up a vitamin B complex that the nursing assistant at the doctor's office recommended. I get my daily water intake just from popping vitamins all day.

Hi. I checked out your food diary for today & the sodium was sky high; would probably be a good idea to work on lowering that. I find that being constipated can keep me from showing the weight loss I know is happening; ever have that problem? Your carbon intake was so low today I was impressed ; I could never achieve that for more than one meal, lol. Your progress is great, though, so it's working for you! I giggled about the water, holding pee, etc. I can definately sympathize! I hope the B complex is helpful.

Im not sure if this site tracks the sodium accurately. Eggs really have that much salt naturally? King crab, if its fresh shouldn't be that high, if it is frozen in salt water possible. Let me knwo if the B complex helps with the carbs cravings. I'm not on a low carb diet but carbs is where I usually go wrong and over eat.

Too true about sodium; I checked broccoli once since it was really high "cooked" must mean in salted water. I now go from raw, adjusting for how it would measure after cooking. Sorry about my unsolicited advice! Good luck with those carbon cravings.

Constipation has been an issue but not this week. No apologies for giving advice are necessary. I welcome advice. I may not always heed it, but I do listen. I am going to try to keep the sodium down today. I did lose a good amount of weight yesterday, despite the king crab. I got some walking in yesterday, too. I am sure that helped.

Oh - the bank story is priceless! I absolutely know the feeling as I drink well over one gallon of water daily. Sometimes 1 and 1/2 gallons!

Up your fiber, one of the flaws with a low carb diet.

Soulnoid - good point! I have been trying to do that, but when I don't plan ahead, I don't usually hit the mark. That will help with the constipation, also, I imagine. I bought this stuff I can dissolve into a drink (benefiber) so I think I'll try that for a bit. I am not sure how to journal that, but I think I can figure it out somehow. You should have seen me at the bank. At some point I actually got out of the chair and started pacing. That was definitely the banker's que to pick up the pace!

Too funny! I can't believe they don't have restrooms. Good for you for keeping up the water!
