Selket's Journal, 25 January 2008

I started the South Beach Diet about a month ago at my doctors request and have lost about 10 lbs. I always start off my day with a teaspoon of Flax seed Oil. Once I got the dog fed, and hubby off to work, I had one piece of sprouted fiber toast, 1/4 cup egg replacer cooked in 1 tsp. of olive oil and I put 1 tbsp. ketchup on top of the egg on toast. I also had a cup of rooibos tea (decaff) with no sugar or milk
153.0 lb Lost so far: 7.0 lb.    Still to go: 8.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Be careful with the ketchup... most has a lot of sugar, unless it's a sugar free ketchup?? Great job journaling and measuring... off to a great start! :)

I checked the label, it said there are 15 calories per tbsp. which is what I had. Do you have any idea how to change an entry, I accidentally put too much in my diet counter?

just click on the entry and it will let you change it in the window that pops up... or delete it and re-enter it. One other problem with ketchup is that it is high in sugar and the glycemic index. Good luck to ya!

thanks I did figure it out after looking at it again. I am thinking of making my own ketchup and using either Z-sweet or agava nectar, both good products. I've lost 10 lbs. so far eating this way and exercising 30 minutes (moderate walking) 6x a week. I think I'm on the right track here. I also don't consume any dairy products or red meat. The odd time I'll eat chicken, but my hubby and I are into alternative foods. He's wanting to go raw again. I found that a bit too drastic, so I'll stay on the SB diet but eat less meat. I don't have a problem with that as I like the liquid egg replacer that is low in everything. Thanks for the encouragement, and the same to you. Lets all get thinner! :-)
