SO off the rails for a couple of days. I did a wine judging, and of course the dinner is just made to enhance the wine. Cheeses, pork, fruits. I tried to stay with the smoked salmon with a mustard dill sauce and some fruits. But the cheeses were the downfall in the end.
Official judging doesn't allow you to swallow much wine, but later in the evening those open bottles were available for drinking. It's true that wine lowers your inhibition and with it your self control. A lesson for me, and all those who tempt themselves with "just a cocktail or two" on weeekends.
