FOCUS is on!!!

Good morning, gang.

First of all, thank you for all your comments, they so helpful, valuable and supporting! I was stunned to see them all this morning, and it was a joy reading through them.

Baxie, it's a great little anecdote you wrote. You're right. Let us trust the doctors and this who are gonna help us get better.
Erika, m.trubulu and all you guys, you all have so many supporting words I can't event start.
SkInny - butt is in gear! :-)
And I gotta applaud Jessabridge4444! She tried out my Indulgence Diet and now she's dropped 25lbs!! Impressive (and easier than you'd think, right Jessabridge4444?)

It makes me really happy that I'm able to help others doing this. The offer is always on: I'm here to help to the best of my abilities, and if you are trying out the Indulgence Diet, then please let me know, and please let me know of your success, experience, hardship, downfalls, etc. - I really want to fine tune it, and it seems to be working for most already.

...

So how did I do yesterday? I did frickin' amazing if I may say so. I had the hour long bike ride in the morning while journaling. After showering i decided to mount a couple of hooks on a door (to keep the cat out). This is something I've been wanting to do for ages but just never got around to do. Done. Then I went to the beach for a walk. Yes. I walked TO the beach, then I walked BY the beach, and then straight to work. At work I was standing up the entire day except for maybe an hour, but that's probably compensated fully by walking to a close by out-of-the-office meeting, giving me another 25 minutes of walking. Oh, and after work I walked tot the store to pick up a few things, another a minutes or so of walking. A very active day indeed.

I did all sane food choices too. Breakfast was a slice of bread (cut down from my normal two slices to save calories to compensate for Tuesday's pig-out), along with my usual two eggs and a slice of ham. I didn't want to cut the proteins, as I needed to stay full until lunch.

Lunch was out on the town after the meeting, but consisted of a small pita bread with a handful of lettuce and some super lean turkey ham. No dressing. I estimated it to be around 400 calories and it might be guessing a little high even. Not bad at all.

...

I have no work today. Wife and I are going out for some errands, and we'll be spending the day in one of the larger towns nearby. It'll be a nice day, the weather looks reasonably good.

The challenge is, of course, to stay focused. We're going out, we're gonna find lunch somewhere, and nothing is really set. I'm probably gonna aim for a pita like yesterday. It's cheap, nice and clean. I love it.

I'm not sure if dinner will be at home or out on the town, but it will be a smart choice. I promise.

I have one more week to get the weight down a notch, and it will happen.
...

It's not like there is a problem if I don't make my weight goal any longer. These are mostly personal goals, but they are just as important for me. They keep me pushing forward. Goals are SO important.

If we don't set goals, but simply "wing it" and hope to accomplish something from it, we won't make it nearly as far. Sure, sometimes we need to take a day at a time, but I think it's just as important to keep the eye on the prize.

How else will we know when we've accomplished something? When will we know when to celebrate? When will we know to push a little harder?

Setting goals from day one of this journey has made me get this far. When I wasn't able to reach my goals I would be able to see it, dedicate, regroup or whatever I needed. Had I just been winging it, I would most likely just have stalled and the whole thing would have simply fizzed out. Right now I'd be sleeping, had pizza and coke last night and been back to 360 lbs.
Instead I'm on my stationary bike, journaling, talking about motivation and skin removal surgery. Howncool is that!?!

Today, I'm thankful for :
- FOCUS!
- the determination to get up early onmy day off and get an hour on the bike before anything else.
- Being able to wait having breakfast until after my workout. It'll make it a shorter while before lunch, thus a smaller risk of getting too hungry.
- the day out with Wife.
- no work on the long work day.
- the outlook of jamming with The Black Peanut tomorrow. It'll be an interesting night for sure. More on that later.

Happy Thursday! Life is good!

Happy Thursday indeed! Enjoy your day with wifey. So glad to hear your motivation. It never ceases to inspire me. I'm curious...how long will you be in the hospital after the surgery? It's crazy but I feel like I'm looking forward to the 18th. I already know that next Monday is a big day. You will be in my prayers. Can't wait to hear about how you feel and what your thoughts are during and after your recovery. I'm still pushing you to keep an open mind about writing a book some day. You have the skills to do it. You have a way of writing in a way that keeps us all very interested and you already have a great and very important topic. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
