I started on Atkins about 17 years ago and kept that diet for around 4 years. Even though it kept me at my ideal weight of around 132 i was struggling to maintain it with carb cravings still. I had gastrointestinal issues and thought this diet was the problem and started eatting carbs again. I gained almost 30-40 pds in a 10 year period. During that time i developed t2 diabetes. I went back on a low carb diet for 2 years but found i was plateaued at 147 for a year and still desiring carbs. I discovered keto last year and it helped me get past that hump and without the same issues of low energy that i had on atkins diet.
