In one of McDougall's weight loss books, he said a person should expend 300 calories at a time when exercising. That is 40-60 minutes of walking or 20-30 minutes of running. If I walk 3 times a week, that is 900 calories times 4 in a month. That is expending 3600 more calories a month which is a pound a month, so by the end of the year, it is 12 lbs. Sounds like a start besides food planning.

I forgot to say why 300 calories, if possible, because the longer you exercise, the more the fuel comes from fat stores.
