drmcdougaller's Journal, 14 March 2010

In one of McDougall's weight loss books, he said a person should expend 300 calories at a time when exercising. That is 40-60 minutes of walking or 20-30 minutes of running. If I walk 3 times a week, that is 900 calories times 4 in a month. That is expending 3600 more calories a month which is a pound a month, so by the end of the year, it is 12 lbs. Sounds like a start besides food planning.

Diet Calendar Entry for 14 March 2010:
1895 kcal Activities & Exercise: Walking (moderate) - 3/mph - 1 hour, Resting - 15 hours, Sleeping - 8 hours. more...

I forgot to say why 300 calories, if possible, because the longer you exercise, the more the fuel comes from fat stores.

Cool- thanks! I don't exercise lately but walking might fit my mind set.
