flaxseed's Journal, 04 March 2010

I woke this morning to a very sharp frost and temperatures 6 degrees below freezing and on my walk up the lane with the dog,the crunch of the remains of the snow under foot and our steamy breath in the air let everyone know we were coming. The sheep curiously wandered up to the fence to see what was going on and the pheasants scurried off into the frosty undergrowth.

The last couple of days have been much better, although I'm still having trouble getting a handle on my eating. Not unhealthy things, just too much. I think I'll have to go back to weighing every day. I seem to be able to keep in check better that way. OH has been in a better frame of mind. Perhaps its the glorious sunshine we've had, even though its been bitterly cold. We went out for lunch on Tuesday and I'm going to a workshop on power of attorney and money problems for people with alzheimers. I didn't think I could go as OH has his pre-op assessment on the same day, but they've put his appointment back by a day.

2 cigarettes yesterday! I can already see the difference in my purse, so I shall have to be careful 2 can lead to more.

Hop everyone has lots of things to be grateful for and has a good FS day

Glad to hear the last couple of days have been better for you!! Eating too much of the 'good' stuff is better than eating too much of stuff that makes you feel icky. Sunshine is definitely good for the soul even when it is still chilly out. I think of you often and keep you close in my heart!! Take care my friend!!!

You certainly are a gifted writer flaxseed, I haven't seen you confirm it, but I suspect you've done it professionally. You seem to have a much more upbeat tone today than in your previous two posts, and I am very happy to see that. Far too many things have been going wrong for you lately, and it's about time your luck changed. I hope your hand (thumb) has improved a bit. Take care..

Glad to see things are feeling a bit better where you are. Sunshine can do that. I wish I could see sheep on my walks down the lane...to me your location sounds like a story book. Hope this week is and easier one, and buy yourself something fun with saved cigarette money!!

I love your use of British English - as apposed to the English we "Yanks" use. I see words like "lane," "cottage," or "pub." Just wanted you to know I enjoy your journals! Stay warm!

Well. The TRUTH is that I don't REALLY remember seeing the word "pub" in your journals. I just couldn't remember a third "British" word.
