Today really sucked, but I stuck to MOST of my guns! Left home at 0615, drove an hour to pick up dad, then drove him 2.5 hours to the neurologist for a nerve conductivity test that was supposed to start at 1100. Finally got started at 12:30 and finished up at 3:15. The test wore Pop out and made it even harder for him to walk.
I hadn't eaten since last night around 6:30 and was really hungry when we left the Dr's office at 3:45. Dad had been mentioning Denny's for several hours, so that's where we stopped. Dad had a few snacks at the Dr's office so I figured he'd eat light at lunch. NOPE, I guess the test really made him hungry! He ordered the most beautiful cheeseburger and fries I had seen in a long time! I considered it, but I ordered a "skillet meal" and requested no potatoes. After calculating roughly what all was in the skillet (chorizo, jalapeños, spinach, peppers, onions, and chicken) I hit around 400 calories and very little fat since it was white meat chicken.
Drove back 2.5 hours to drop dad off at my sister's house and I finally got back home at 9 PM. Once again, famished! This is where I dropped off my plan a bit, I opened the frig, scanned what was available, and ate 2 fat bombs and made myself a 32oz glass of ice water! Belly is happy, I'm showered and ready for bed and will have my next meal after 11:00 tomorrow morning.
I'm calling this a success!

Well CB my comment went off mid sentence. Anyway peripheral neuropathy is so tough. I've had patients with pain, burning, weakness, muscle wasting. All different symptoms and they can treat the symptoms but there's no cure. My partner has permanent nerves damage from years of high blood sugars. Anyway best of luck to your Dad. Good luck with your next fast. How long do you go between meals?

Your dad is lucky to have you. <3 Food-wise, sure sounds like a success to me! I read nutrition info for pecans today, while putting them into apology brownies; looking forward to making your fatbombs for myself. Sweet dreams!

@Paula, yep, the nerve issues combined with dementia is really tough. He has nerve damage and muscle damage, but he's still convinced that he'll be hiking the trails with me in November like we did for better than 40 years. He'll be out there with me, but we'll take the 4-wheeler instead of walking out with all of our gear. Probably going to be our last season in the field together, but we SHALL enjoy it!
