Earthlady's Journal, 13 March 2012

So far, daily weigh-ins are having the desired effect of increasing motivation to do well each day, and it's showing up on the scales. At last I feel like I'm really back on track after a blip of almost a month - was it post-holiday blues, I wonder?
126.8 lb Lost so far: 9.9 lb.    Still to go: 1.1 lb.    Diet followed 100%.

Diet Calendar Entry for 13 March 2012:
1443 kcal Fat: 50.04g | Prot: 40.08g | Carb: 208.60g.   Breakfast: banana, honey, dried cranberries, coffee, sunfllower seeds, grapes, yoghurt, granola. Lunch: rye bread, sweet red pepper, pesto, cheese, apple. Dinner: cheese, olive oil, beetroot, basmati rice salad, egg, my guacamole. Snacks/Other: miller light beer. more...

To me, daily weigh-ins are essential. If I don't weigh in daily I will simply slack all week and panic when it's time to weigh in. I'd rather have the stress of the (expected) fluctuations. This is what works for me. It's good to see you on track - and you're almost there!

Good Job! I weigh myself pretty much every day, too, but I'm not sure it makes any difference. I think I just stop caring enough...notice I said enough...I'm within 10 pounds of my goal, and feel so much better that I just get myself thinking, "it'll be fine"...well, I'm NOT on maintenance yet. Once I get there, I think the way I'm eating will be ok, because I'm not going "hog-wild" now...just allowing for goodies here or there or sometimes a larger serving than I should have. I'm not gaining, I'm just not losing...ergo, I'm acting like I'm on maintenance! I have started walking, though can't get it in every day right now, and last night I even did a few sit-ups! Sounds silly even saying it...it was kind of pitiful...but, you never know what's going to spark a trend, so, why not, right? LOL... You are definitely almost there, Earthlady! Congrats! Congrats! Congrats!:)

Baxie, I think you're feeling so similar to how I was feeling the last few weeks. I was also weighing myself daily, but recording the daily numbers on FS is more motivating, somehow. It's that thing of accountability and honesty that I believe is unavoidable in this community of strangers. Good on you for the sit ups - I've joined the beginners' yoga challenge on here which began last week. So far, so good... I've also been walking more but today is so cold and windy I took the quickest way home - in a vehicle :)
