I had to be 150kms away this morning to be at a training session for my new position by 7:30am, so I was up at 4:45am and out the door by 5:30am. I went out the door to be greeted with 7.5cm (3") of snow and it was still coming down pretty hard...so I drove with caution...

The roads just seemed to get worse the closer I got to my destination, and traffic through the city was ridiculous!! Lots of cars in the ditches and some had rolled (poor buggers), but I kept it between the lines and rubber side down...I was almost an hour late, so 3hrs to go 150kms...so pretty cautious...

The training was interesting, except I already knew most of it (my current roll was basically training/mentoring guys to perform their duties to the expectation) so I was a little bored...other than that there was a lot of good conversation & I tried not to answer every question...lunch was provided and I had a soup & sandwich, very yummy!! But the cookies were calling me...a lot...and I couldn't keep away, so three trips back to the cookie plate...two cookies each time (large, soft & delicious...BAAAAAADDD!!)...OOOOoooooppppsss!! Oh well, it's been done now...but my blood sugar was pretty high!! Still in the "normal" range, but higher than I like to see...

After the course was finished I headed out to my truck and wouldn't you know it about 5cm more had fallen...not too bad, but the roads were terrible...and now the snow was falling really hard & mixed with rain (it was right at the freezing point)...now there is freezing rain on the road...GREAT!!

The drive home was awful!! More traffic, since it was prime time, blowing snow and freezing rain...so another 3hr drive home...even more wrecked cars in the ditch...but again, slow & steady got me there...what a friggin day!!

Now I can relax for about an hour, then weights & exercise bike...I may have stumbled with the eating, but the exercise can still happen!!

Be careful in that snow pal! I miss it, funny huh. Well, after about 10 minutes I wouldn't miss it anymore. I wish my work would bring in cookies, well, maybe not. We are having an inspection this week, and it is NO FUN! Anyway, Congrats on your promotion, and good luck up there. Spring should be coming soon.

I'll have to post up a picture of that stuff that you miss...I'm just being a whiner, but we were having such a mild winter...it sucks that my grass, which was almost clear, is now burried under about 4ft of snow because of shovelling the driveway...good exercise, right? Later.
