kingkeld's Journal, 15 February 2012

It's Wednesday morning in Denmark. It's almost 6 AM. Wife went to work, Daughter is on her winter break from school and still sleeping, and kitty it roaming the living room. I am, as always, here doing my morning journal and weigh-in. David Gilmour from Pink Floyd is doing the entertainment part on the big screen. Nice, calm music for a morning like this. I love it.

So how was the day yesterday? In many ways, AMAZING. The result today, however, not as great as it should be.

Why, you ask? Well, let's get the negatives out of the way first.

We went out to eat, the food was nowhere near the quality we're used to, and it left me gassy, bloated, feeling constipated AND with a weight gain. Wife and I agreed to not go back there, and if we'd like that kind of food in the future we are way better off simply cooking it ourselves. Better taste, better quality AND much cheaper. Lesson learned, hopefully. On top of this, the kid in the apartment below us made noise all frickin' night, and kept us both awake all night. We're like a couple of zombies this morning. I have been purposefully stomping my feet when ever I am in the part of the apartment that is close to his room. Hopefully that'll keep him from sleeping TOO much. :)

Now, enough with the bad stuff.

Yesterday was AWESOME on so many levels.

First of all, it was Valentine's Day. Wife didn't really want dinner out - she was okay with staying at home. I felt kinda bad about this, as I wanted to treat her to something good.

We had agreed to meet when I would be out from work, go shopping for something good, and go home.

Well, good reasons to go celebrate came to us throughout the day:

First of all, Wife got some unexpected praise, not only from her own boss, but also from the boss at her work place. This comes from very high ranks, and was passed on to let her know that they are MORE than pleased with her. I think she grew a whole foot taller telling me this. She was so proud, and I loved that moment for her. I'm so proud of her.

Then, on MY front, I had so many good things happen in my cases yesterday:

1. A couple of people that didn't show up to my interviews, simply because they went back to work and didn't need us any longer. NICE!

2. A person who needed our help got it, and now has the tools he need to stay in his company and help employ more than 20 people, where the alternative could have ended up being him having to shut down. DOUBLE NICE!

3. A person, who has been "under my wing" at work for a full year, and is a royal pain to deal with because of so many factors in his illness, suddenly called yesterday, completely out of the blue, and let me know that he has talked to a specialist, found out what's essentially wrong with him, gotten diagnosed, dealt with it mentally and is now ready to move on. These news comes literally hours before I had to start DAYS of hard work to finish up his case, with dire consequences for him. This is one of those cases that have kept me awake for months, and that has really worried me. Well, not it just went away with a huge "puff"! How cool is that!

I can tell that I have a HUGE monkey off my back, and I just feel super positive this morning. I love it! I really feel that I got so much squared away yesterday.

Now, if I could only get my stomach to act right. I'm no longer constipated like I used to (sorry, TMI - I know....), but it just doesn't feel right after the dinner yesterday. I hope it'll adjust throughout the day.

If it does, then I plan (again) to hit the gym. I will bring clothes for it, shoes and all, so I can go after work. It's been hard to me to get to go there, most likely just excuses for being lazy.

I have been riding my bike every time I haven't gone to the gym, though. Let me point that out. It should even amount to approximately the same calories spent per hour. I don't see it as exercise not done, I just really want to get into the habit of going, and it's really hard for me to do so.

So, today is more of the same. Interviews at work, catching up a bit on my old stuff that needs to be done, and then the gym. After that coming home, dinner, a couple of tv-shows and then bed. Tv-shors may be cut short - we're both dead tired this morning, and I'm not sure we can stay awake. We'll see what happens.

Today I am thankful for:
- MANY cases closed yesterday. Especially my trouble case.
- Über-strong coffee this morning. Oh, how I need it.
- The outlook of half an hour biking after I write this.
- Kitty cat keeping me company.
- A great evening out with Wife.

Life is good!

Sorry you had some troubles yesterday, but sounds like the positives outweighed them. :-) Enjoy the day and the gym both.

Your three cases sound really positive... All credit to you. How nice that your wife got praise from above, so many bosses don't do that enough and it is so motivating. Sorry to hear about your tummy, hopeit will pass quickly. Have a great day :-)

Hi Kingkeld - I read this morning on the Internet from a seemingly knowledgeable source that an adequate B complex vitamin intake can help constipation issues that are so common with all of the various diets everyone does...

Wow! What a great day for all! Keep the good news and that mood flowing for the rest of the week. Hope you feel better, internally, as the day progresses. Can't have that holding you down on a week like this. Have a great Wednesday.
