BuffyBear's Journal, 29 January 2012

Another beautiful day here in NC. Day 1 and 2 went well, so I'm beginning Day 3 of the rest of my life.

Need to take some time and plan out my meals at work this week. For me, eating healthy weekday lunches and snacks is not hard. It is the planning & prep part that is hard.

For Heather and Christina - yesterday I had 1/2 piece of whole grain bread and 1/4 cup of black beans for the low GI/higher carb experiment.

Hope everybody enjoys the rest of your weekend.

Totally inspired by your new found willingness to work at this thing! The more you do it, the easier it should get. In a few short weeks, you'll have all kinds of workday ideas, weekend recipes, nighttime meals w/ leftovers, snack ideas, etc. Just keep challenging yourself to stay in the moment.. and keep your goals right in front of you!!! YOU are doing awesome!!!

Day 3 and great job ! Admire you for planning meals, I'm not good at that at all, I just try to have food around that is good so whatever I choose is good (no more chocolate )...

Paula - Thank you! Wish I had an explanation for it, guess it just had to be the right time.

Bren - I really appreciate that. Day 3 is going great so far. I am going to make it this time.

Notfast - I have to plan. If not, I just eat whatever is around - even if it happens to be chocolate! And you know how that goes.

Awesome Buffy...one day at a time is the best. For me the weekends are the toughest. They are usually quite unstructured and kind of anything goes; on the other hand, my weekdays (because of my job) are very structured.

Heather - Did you bake your own flax bread? I don't mind cooking but for some reason I hate baking - maybe because I make too much of a mess? Have a nice Sunday Afternoon.

Christina - Well then, thank God tomorrow is Monday!

Great work Buffy - and it is important to plan out what you will eat throughout the week. Not in detail, that decision you can make from day to day but to have a picture and prepare for it. Makes it so much easier to decide what to eat the next day. And always have a backup of snacks for the munchies.. we call it the little break in-between *lol*

Good work Buffy, planning is not my strong point, so I try to keep healthier foods in the house. Good job and have a great week! :-)

Jozette - Don't know if I'll ever get as organized as you but I'm trying for improvement. I do realize what a difference it makes.

Queen - Just to give you an idea of how important it is for me to plan lunches - my work is located right between two Southern Fried Chicken joints!
