Earthlady's Journal, 08 January 2012

My 'indulgence' last night didn't register on the scale this morning :D so now another week of just under RDI to make up for going over yesterday. Didn't record everything because they're made up, local recipes and it's hard to know what is in all the dishes for sure and in what quantities. So I recorded higher quantities of the things I'm more sure about and I guess I'm only under the true total by a maximum of 500 calories. It's OK not to see it in black and white because it's clear in my mind.

Right now I'm having breakfast and getting ready for a seminar at work - everyone else in the house is having their Sunday sleep-in (not a habit I enjoy) except kitty who's keeping me company. Lunch will be provided today. I don't usually eat school lunch as I'm sure it's one of the reasons I gained weight in the first place - I take a sandwich or a salad with me. But today we're a small group with visitors from other schools, so I feel I should be with everyone else for lunch. Hoping there'll be soup and salad at least, that will be enough for me. I'll take a few walnuts and dried apricots with me just in case.

It looks pretty wet and windy outside and a drop in temperature was forecast. School is about 3 miles away and I was planning to walk but I don't want to arrive wet and freezing as the central heating isn't great at the best of times - an empty school on a Sunday is likely to feel cold. So I think I'll enjoy the rest of my coffee at leisure and take a taxi, then I can walk home this afternoon.

Thanks - it was good but I'm tired! Had a Turkish dish for lunch of aubergine (eggplant) puree with lamb and peppers - according to a Turksih website about 360 cals per portion - of course everyone makes it different and I had a small portion but I'm writing it here so it's recorded!!
