HCB was right. The twelve days of baking (and apparently drinking and merriment followed by loathing and then stress eating) has completely derailed everything I have been working for during the past eight months. I have logged every bit of it (sadly, after the damage was already done) and the numbers are staggering. No wonder I gained weight for years. Just a couple cocktails send me over my allotted calories and offer no nutritional benefit whatsoever. Same thing with the stupid holiday baked goods.

The only good news is that it is coming to an end. My favorite co-worker and partner in crime is leaving and moving to another state. Today is her last day. I threw a "congratulations on your engagement/sorry you are leaving" party for her over the weekend (where I drank more than I should have). This afternoon is her going away party after work and then no more drinking for me for at least a month. Should be easy, peasy. Nearly all of the Christmas stuff should be over by Christmas (none of that celebrating Christmas at various relative's homes for over a week), and that will really help.

Now, I just need to tackle the stress eating that returned with a vengeance since she gave her notice at work. The added workload won't alleviate easily or quickly and I will be working even harder to train new people and keep things rolling. I have had my own personal pity party going on for three weeks, now. It is time to end it. It isn't helping and now I am only making things harder on myself. I have to re-lose two pounds and that is hard enough to do the first time around. No more of that "you just spent three hours in meetings - you should reward yourself with a cookie". I am not a damned dog. I do not work for treats.

Tomorrow is a new day. Start it out right. Do the right thing. I will take care of myself. I will drink more water and go to the gym. I can do this. I have already lost more than 40 pounds. I will stop using excuses and focus on the success. I got this!!

You go, buddy! Anger beats pity, any day. Commitment tops both. You've come too far to throw it away.
