Yesterday was relatively successful. My first day after my return from India, and after a fitfull night of sleeping and waking up a bit later than intended, I reltaively felt un-jetlagged. Went to work and sorted through what needs attention. Didn't get a lot actually done..I did go to the gym and put in 50 mins on the treadmill, and 3.5 miles total of walking at 3.8 mph, with periodic spurts of jogging. Sweated a bit, but not too much...probably a sign of not being in great shape yet.

Meals: Didn;t have time to make anything at home, so I picked up the best I could do at work. Here's a listing:
Brunch: coffee with cream
Veggie soup (potatoes, carrots, green beans, kidney beans)--skipped crackers
Salad with ranch dressing (skipped onions)

snack: 1 atkins bar
dinner: 1 veggie patty, sour cream, salasa, jalapeno slices, 2 olives, 1 string cheese,

Total: 8 carbs + unknown from the cup of veggie soup
600 calories, and about 16 ww points

Picked up groceries and paid a high price for it, but I'm resolved to put in the cost and time and effort required to cook at home, bring planned meals to work, including coffee and snacks, and cooking different recipes to not get bored. It's going to take some effort and discipline, something I haven't developed yet to my full satisfaction. But ofcourse, it's time to give up my student-like bohemian lifestyle, after nearly becoming a tenured professor!

Have looked at my gym schedule of classes, and come up with a plan to incorporate running, classes (yoga, spinning, total body toning, zumba, and tai chi). The goal is to work out hard and 6 days of the week with Sunday rest.

I have to remind myself that I managed to get a lot of working out done at my busiest and stressful time in my career a few months ago, and as a result, was feeling at the top of my game and happy...so I have to recreate that feeling and get to tackling all the lofty goals I have this semester at work. Enough talk...just getting to action now!!

Just Do It! :) Remember not to go too low on the calories, buddy, or you could be setting yourself up for bad news - especially if you'll be burning a lot.

Wow! Great job at the gym!! You GO Girl! Pretty good staying on track with food too. 600 calories isn't very much though. Be careful you don't go too low there. Just noticed that Amryk said the same thing about the calories..LOL. GO GET 'EM! ((((HUGS))))
