R3P2 - VLCD #40
my reaction to the scale this morning: why?! WHY??! Why I'm gaining weight when I'm having less than 800 calories a day?! Wth why!?
I'm getting tired and frustrated of this yoyo-ing of my weight. I don't know what else to do, this round is becoming a nightmare for me. I should quit cold-turkey the decaf coffee but can that be the reason why I gain? I'll try IF this weekend, I'm seriously desperate

Your metabolism has adapted to the lower calorie intake. Although that small gain you posted is likely not fat. Probably water or gut (digesting food) weight.

You're most probably right, my body just got used to this regiment. I have to try to shake a bit my routine...somehow!

I have been following your messages for quite a while and I think you're doing very well. Your body will not 100% reflect it's actual body weight due to water and other such weights that fluctuate daily. Personally, my weight can fluctuate ~5lbs per day for no reason. You need to measure on a weekly basis. You're likely worrying about nothing but water right now. Next, on your progress. You seem to not be liking your progress very much, but from August 10 @ 155lbs to now, Septermber 16 @135, you are actually losing weight insanely fast. If we assume that you burn 2000 calories per day(I did some calculations on your behalf on some site, and this seems reasonable), and you're eating 800 calories per day(and you're actually accurate, which considering your weight loss, you seem to be, so good job!), that means that you're at a calorie deficit of 1200 per day. Each pound of weight is 3500 calories, which means that on your current trajectory, it will take ~3 days to burn one pound of fat, which is extremely fast. You have been on this VLCD diet for 40 days now? If we divide 40/3, we get ~13 pounds. This means that you are losing weight faster than you should be (if you were actually eating 800 calories per day, and from your food logs show, you seem to be eating even less than that, and that might be why you're doing better than predicted). Weight loss is a slow process, and I've been losing weight for about 6 months now and I'm still not at my target. It's just the way it is. You're doing great.

And also, all those other things like "decaf coffee", as you can see, they are not affecting your weight loss. I think you expect that your diet would make you lose more weight, but it takes a long time.

Thanks for all your support LadyinDenim and logic9867! :) you're right logic9867, it does take long time to lose weight, I try to repeat myself that I should not expect miracles from my body and a weight loss journey is never easy. Our bodies will react in any way to compensate whatever is missing. I'm doing the HCG Diet, the only diet that ever worked for me, it's supposed to let you lose up to 1lb per day....obviously not to everyone, that's why sometimes I get discouraged. I wish you great luck on your diets too buddies!

My sister did that diet and is pleased with the results so far. She has a lot more to lose. I am kind of watching and waiting.
