As you know pneumonia has kept me pretty inactive, resting on the couch, and spending a lot of time on FS. LOL. Well, I've also had time for another little project. I've been researching photovoltaics - solar panels for our house. Well, it turns out that if we borrow the money for them, they will pay for themselves in 5.5 years and then we will have free electricity forever! The government has big tax incentives in place and the loan for the system is at l.49%, so we're going to do it. We're going solar! And that's not all. I'm one of those VW diesel owners who got sold a bill of goods by buying a 'clean diesel' car from the cheaters at VW. They've been sued and they will be buying back 500,000 cars! Well, that means I'm getting paid handsomely for my 3yr old Sportwagen. I really do want to buy a low emission car, so I've been researching hybrids and electric vehicles. I've decided to go EV - an electric vehicle - and add to the roof array enough voltage to power it. So, the savings on fuel will help to pay off the solar panels, I'll never need gas again, and I'll be driving a zero emissions car powered by the sun. All paid for by VW, and the savings on gas. I'm pretty excited about cutting our carbon footprint drastically and saving a ton of money in the long run! I'm so excited! And I feel like I've made some use of my -stuck-on-the-couch time.
