I haven't used Fatsecret in a long time, so I went back through and looked at my history. I frustrate myself so much! I have had some great successes (mostly on fad or extreme diets) I need to figure out how to do this slowly, deliberately, and healthfully. I'm tired of all those ups and downs in my weight column (mostly ups) I'm praying that this time I can really find support and motivation and really do it and form a lifetime habit of healthy nutrition.

Welcome back, we are here to support you in any way we can, lots of journals on here with different ways of eating (WOE). Many of us incorporate a variety of protocols here since one diet does not fit all. I am positive that you will find what works for you and journey to good health and vitality :)

Amen! To DebraF's reply. Tashablueeyes: You are not alone. I have fallen off and on the FS wagon many times along with many others. Welcome back aboard. You are on the right track: being seriously committed and accountable to yourself and enlisting the help of God and others is powerful. The FS community is really helpful. Don't give up on yourself or FS and you will see great results. What action plan are you following now?

You are not alone in the yo-yoing weight struggle and the desire to find a lasting solution that ends the cycle. Debra has said it well - there are lots of new ideas, not just in terms of diet style but also concepts like IF (intermittent fasting) which I personally think may hold the clue to weight maintenance (in addition to facilitating weight loss).

The weight loss industry is worth billions every year, but the food manufacturing industry is probably worth trillions. It's a struggle that starts in the mind, make the decision to pick a plan and stick with it, no excuses, just firm commitment. Some plans are simpler to work, work more effectively, and are more cost effective than others, do your research, find something you can live with for life, and make the change, no one can do it for you.

Yep! Truth is being spoken here. I learned new and effective ways to change my WOE (way of eating) through the FS community: LCHF, Keto and IF is what works with results for me. Lots of doctors and research now supports those ideas that have been around forever. It was disregarded for a long time, especially because like Phil stated, the big businesses wants to keep the Fat Secret a secret... that includes the medical and insurance industries too. We all need to simply go back to the garden!
