I knew I had gained some...3 pounds! I'm really having a hard time with south beach. I feel deprived much of the time and then when I eat I gain! It really puts me on a roller coaster. Maybe I should try something else? any suggestions?

First, what is it that you are feeling deprived from? If it is the sweets and potatoes and white products don't worry that will go away I promise. becasue everyone I talk to says the same thing and it also worked for me. I'll make a steak and potato meal for my husband and I will eat the steak and avacados or some other veggie or salad. I think you might have to experiment a bit to figure out what kills your craving. Wish you willpower ~Tracie~

Do you feel deprived of certain things or deprived of food in general? If you are feeling deprived in general you are not eating enough. YOU SHOULD NOT FEEL HUNGRY ON THID DIET!!!! If you are hungry, eat. Just make sure you are eating appropriately. Tracie is right the cravings will go away IF you don't give in and eat carbs and sugar. I've been on SB for quite some time and I still get cravings, but only AFTER I've eaten a high carb or high sugar food. As long as I keep them out of my system I don't crave them. Don't get me wrong, Mexican, Italian and Chinese are some of my favorite foods and I spurge now and then, but I know afterward I will have to fight the cravings again for a few days, you just have to know yourself and how strong you can be when you really want something! GOOD LUCK! Hang in there.

I agree, what exactly do you feel deprived from? Is it the small portion sizes that is bugging you? I had that problem, but found that I can eat more than suggested and still lose, as long as I eat the right things.
