Ieksie's Journal, 21 January 2016

In 2 week's time I'm hitting Cape Town for 13 days... That'll be my official holiday. Yeah, I start my year with vacations. Hehehe. Anyways, eating & drinking-wise I'm dreading it, 'coz I know I'll be stuffing my face with delicious food & wine, etc. I'm really going to try & keep everything to a minimum, so that I don't ruin my hard work these last couple of days... If any of you have advice, please SHOOT!!

Diet Calendar Entry for 21 January 2016:

No, I mean really. I'd try that when I'm in my normal work routine, but not while I'm on holiday... Besides, I suffer from "hangryness". I get angry when I'm hungry! LOL

Lots of ice blocks in your red wine. If you are a white wine drinker ask for a Spritzer. Avoid starchy and sugary foods and all sugary type "liquers" and shooters.. Try and fit in some walking, even if its just 30 minutes. When eating in a restaurant don't feel obligated to eat everything on your plate. Eat slowly enjoying every mouth full. Your brain takes around 20 minutes to register that you are satisfied. You can always take a doggy bag for what you haven't consumed. If you are eating a dessert i.e. a cake or a pudding, stick to the 3 bite rule. The 3-bite rule breaks down like this: take one bite to say “hello,” one bite to savor the flavor, and one bite to say “goodbye.” After that the craving or taste sensation could be satisfied. Just a couple of idea's. Sure you will get some more from the other members :)

LOL leksie - no need to be extreme, just dont eat til midday while u on holiday so u basically doing an intermittent fast from the last bite of food from the night before til next day midday. After midday u can unleash your Hanger! lol. But the key thing is to remember u are on holiday. Enjoy yourself. Don't stress. Do damage control when u get back and then start your weight loss :)

what parts of cape town are you going to?

We'll be staying in Cape Town self, Long street, and then one night in Cape Agulhas and then travelling to Mosselbay & surrounding areas.
