Fledgist's Journal, 02 September 2011

My sons are visiting this weekend. Yesterday I had a hectic day of standing in line, waiting, running from place to place. Today my weight is down by over half a pound.

In consequence, I'm now 30 lbs from my goal. This is very good.

I've been using the halls.md website to track my BMI. As that falls, I have clear evidence of my progress and a relationship of my weight loss to a clear health goal. Now it's at 27.8. When I started, my doctor tells me, it was at 54. I'm almost half the man I was.
193.8 lb Lost so far: 143.2 lb.    Still to go: 25.8 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

I've missed a lot this week - firstly belated happy birthday. And look at your weight - you are just chugging along. You said in a journal recently that you felt you still had a mountain to climb with 30+ pounds to lose. Man, that's not a mountain, considering where you came from, its just a wee tiny hill! You may be half the man in size that you were but you have learned so much and come so far. I am sure your sons will be gobsmacked when they see you. And I agree that if you are on your feet more and moving more that can only be a good thing. Enjoy your week-end with family. I look forward to your journal entries and sorry I don't comnment every day but I do care and I do catch up. Great friggin job!

Thanks, Sarahsmum. I'm happy to have both lads here. I'll miss them terribly when they're gone. As I get closer to my goal it gets harder to restrain my impatience, and it makes what is left seem that much tougher. Especially since it doesn't melt away as easily as it did a few months back.

I hear you, I so want to be 'normal' and done with dieting but I have to learn that I will never be 'done' and that this isn't a diet its a way of life. So trite but so true. Do your sons live far from you, or are they moving away? Hope I'm not being nosey.

:-) so close to your goal now... Amazing what you have done to lower your BMI...... Goodness a BMI of nearly 54 must have been a heart attack waiting to happen. Well done - nearly normal... It's good to think you have improved your health and life expectancy, not to mention the quality of your life :-). Have. Good time with your sons, I bet they are really proud of you
