My throut is sore. Okay so this doctor wants me to see a therapist about bing eating. They think it is a eating disorder. I am just wondering what kind of therapy is that. I don't want to get further off. I am going to stop ww for a while and stay on this diet. It is 800 c and 50 carbs or less. Around 12noon i am really hungry even when I follow the plan to a tee. Hi, I have been seeing a therapist for 2 years for binge eating and emotional eating. When my Dr. brought it up almost 3 years ago that I "didn't have to live like this". That the constant weight roller coaster didn't have to happen. It's been huge for me to find out what is going on with me and why I do it. I talk to her on a weekly basis and I've learned so much about myself. I would definitely recommend it. My therapist doesn't believe in medications so it's a lot of talking. It's nice to have someone who understands. Cause you can diet all you like and unless you deal with why you put the weight on in the first place, it will just keep coming back. I've still got a long way to go but I'm so glad I have had the opportunity to talk to someone. I was able to find someone who is OHIP covered too which makes it nice that I don't have to pay for it. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them.

You could see a psychologist/psychiatrist that specializes in eating disorders. Just google where you live and see if one is around. They will help you with the behavioral aspect. You could also see a dietitian if you want to talk about your diet and meal intake. You might find that a center has both available to you at the same place. If you can't afford it, try thinking about the what, why, and when of eating. Document when you eat and why along with what. Then try to figure out ways to deal with those emotions. If you eat when stressed or bored, tired, happy, sad- find a different way to handle it (walk, call a friend, read a book, take a shower, brush your teeth...).
