Sandy701's Journal, 21 August 2011

Walked 3.1 miles yesterday and took today (Sunday) off. I also tackled all the yardwork and other assorted outside chores yesterday that took the better part of the afternoon. By the time I finished, I was one sweaty mess.

Friday night's dinner out went very well. Our group took over a large portion of a waterfront restaurant that had excellent views. It turns out that DH's Christmas party committee has already booked this place for this year's Christmas party, as well. Dinner for me was the "catch of the day" which was triggerfish. Along with that, I had a Caesar salad (took off the garlic/melba toast with cheese on top) and garden fresh veggies (zucchini, yellow squash, and carrots). I gave my green and red peppers strips to DH, as I really don't eat them except in tiny quantities. So, all in all, a very nice dinner out and very, very Atkins-friendly!

A younger couple across the table both had their own platters of a huge seafood sampler....with all selections breaded and deep fried. The guy also had a rather large Italian meatball sandwich in addition to all the platter stuff! I remember being in college when I could eat that way too. Ah, to be young again... (But truly...would I really eat that way anymore, knowing what I know now????)

I'll check in on journals later tomorrow.

Sandy - Your dinner sounded so good and so healthy too! I won't feel too guilty about all my fresh tomatoes because you had them when I didn't!

Buffy, it sure would be nice if we could even out our tomato production so we'd both have some all summer long, wouldn't it?!

Sandy - I've heard there are a few places in the world that you can do that - one is a plateau on a mountain in Columbia - but the crop they grow there is a little more profitable than tomatoes.
