Yes indeedy folks, I ate a large pieces of disgustingly caloric cheesecake at a family party today. It wasn't actually Cheesecake Factory cheesecake -- but that's the best reference point for my food diary. It was gluten-free, lactose free cheesecake that I made with my own two hands. Unfortunately it is no more calorie-free than Cheesecake Factory cheesecake. But I'm proud of the fact that I went to the party carrying with me not only the two cheesecakes, but also a whole bunch of carrots, grape tomatoes, and sliced sweet peppers. So I ate a sensible portion of Italian beef for dinner, with my veggies, and avoided bad stuff -- except then I allowed myself a piece of my cheesecake. Tonight was a good example of how the FODMAP restrictions keep me out of trouble: I skipped the rolls, the potatoes, the mayo-based cole slaw, and the fried chicken! -- not because I'm angelic, but because I DON'T WANT TO BE SICK!
P.S. On last night's news I heard about the 43 Chipotles that were closed down because of an e-Coli problem, so if anyone has any doubts about the fact that I got a food-borne infection at a Chipotle in June 2014, well, it's for real, and my life will never be the same. Watch what you eat and where you eat.
P.P.S. Was reminded today of why it is I try not to weigh-in too often. I couldn't control myself and got on the scale this morning AND I HAD GAINED 1.5 POUNDS SINCE THURSDAY! Now we all know that's not really possible on what I'm eating -- it has to be water, perhaps because I ate high-sodium Vietnamese food yesterday. Whatever. I am NOT recording that weigh-in. I refuse. And I'm staying off the scale until next Thursday. Boo Hiss.
