Big Boy Optimus's Journal, 13 October 2015

We have seen lots of proof that choosing to go the low carb route will help in weight/fat loss and most use the guideline of keeping to a maximum of 30g of carbs but what happens when you exceed this daily limit? Well personally I found that I tell myself DAMN! I exceeded so I might as well just pig out and try again another day. This is the wrong mindset so I was doing some reading and found out that every individual has a unique daily limit of carbs that they "can" consume and still lose weight/fat.

Whilst 30g of carbs is low enough to accelerate weight/fat loss, my daily carb limit was calculated to be 186g so as long as I keep under that amount of carbs, I could still be achieving weight/fat loss but probably not as much as if I kept to 30g or less. This is interesting as it will give me flexibility for those days that I cannot manage to keep to 30g or less of carbs and it will prevent me from going overboard just because I didn't keep to my 30g limit. Today is a perfect example as I exceeded 30g of carbs already and was planning on including rice and potatoes in my supper but now I have opted to rather have some shredded red cabbage with some veggies and some mutton curry so that I stay under 80g but not more than 100g of carbs if need be.

These are the tricks and knowledge we need to keep things flexible and maintain our weight/fat loss goals :) Hope it helps some of you out :)
