Big Boy Optimus's Journal, 16 September 2015

I had a look at my last week and noticed that I had exceeded my 100% RDI on Non-Fast Days but when I calculate what my average daily calorie intake was over 7 days it works out to just over 1600 calories. This means that although I ate alot of food, my fast days have offset the overall total calorie intake and is the equivalent of me eating 1600 calorie per day for a week.

I have found it much easier to fast than to stick to a daily 1600 calorie limit.

I really wanted to make Tuesday a low carb non-fast day but I didn't so I'm very keen to see what tomorrow's weigh-in result will be and at the back of my mind I know I can tweak it for next week :)

It's been amazing watching your little experiments over the last couple of months. Your 5:2 as well as liquid fast days, an overall lower weekly cal intake and sometimes the odd low carb fast day is working well for you. At the risk of sounding like I'm finding fault I think if you you had to have consistent low carb days your weight loss would be a lot faster than present. There is a new breed of fasters out there, who do a fusion of ADF (Alternate Day Fasting) in conjunction with LCHF and find it is a perfect "marriage" Being in a ketotic state results in a diminished appetite which is so perfect for fast days. Your body becomes a constant fat burning machine. Please don't think I am finding fault because I applaud anybody who strives for better health. I think you are doing GREAT just giving you some food for thought. Pun intended :))

No offence taken at all LCFF. I will eventually keep to more consistent low carb days but for now I am really happy that I am managing to lose weight and have so much flexibility in keeping things low carb or not :) It's that flexibility and less restrictiveness that's keeping me going :)
