I just ran 7 miles this morning! It took 1 hour, 13.5 min of running straight through with no stops. (about a 10.5 min/ mile.) This also included hills and my friend and I talked the whole time. It felt really good! I will be shooting for 8 next week. My plan here is to keep adding a mile per week on and see how that goes. In between the long runs, I will exercise and do weights but not go for distance midweek.
This is exciting! For those of you who say, "I can't run"- yes you can! I used to say that. I had not even a glimmer of hope that I would ever even make it to 2-3 miles a year ago. It just takes getting out there and adding on little by little. I still think the first 1-2 miles are the hardest. After that your body just kind of gets into the groove. When you think you can't, say "yes I can!" and go for it!!
