Sandy701's Journal, 23 July 2011

OK, another cloudy, warm day for walking, but the clouds helped keep it a tad cooler. Completed 3.1 miles and only got rained on a few times! It's one of those days where there'll be a momentary cloudburst and then it's done. With reasonable cloud cover, DH and I may tackle the lawn a bit later, IF these cloudbursts don't get the lawn too wet!

I completed Day #1 of focusing on total carbs staying below 50. I must say that I've gotten rid of the bloated feeling I've had in the last couple days and I'm back running to the bathroom more, as well. Hmmmmm. I was also happy to see the scale moving downward (not recorded) in a small, but reasonable amount than I've seen in some time. I also could have recorded a pound loss, but it was after exercising and recording it would not be consistent with the timing of my other weigh-ins.

Today will be a special challenge as I decided to still eat my "usual" Saturday pancakes. Between the true fiber in the mix and the sugar alcohols in the syrup, I'm at/about 30 TC already, so I need to plan carefully for the rest of the day to keep the TCs under 50 as much as possible.

I realize that it's only Day #2, but I'm feeling great about this change....something new, but still in line with Atkins, and a change that I'm hopeful will lead me through these final pounds down to my initial goal weight.

Sandy - In this heat it is almost a blessing to get rained on. Good luck with your new experiment.

Buffy, that's exactly the way I figured it....why stop walking due to some rain when I'm already wet with sweat? Been in the pool twice already today but gotta stop now...no more dry suits!

Triaby and Bren...Thanks....trying to stay focused. I think there really IS something to this 50-total-carb metabolic tipping point. Time will tell, but for right now, it sure feels like what it used to feel like when the pounds were dropping slowly, but more regularly. Have a good weekend!
